The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom

This book is such an amazing book about how faith can persevere through anything!
follow Corrie Ten Boom and her sister Betsy through World War 2.
This christian family of watchmakers, successfully hide jews in their two building house, experience the trials and hardships of German prison camps, Death, and near starvation. Corrie and Betsy are learning the ways that faith in the Lord can really turn things around, and thanking him for small things like lice can really make a difference!  Wow looking back through that, it sounded like the back cover of the book! which it wasn't, but its true so I'll just leave it.  It took us a long time to read, but it was so good! I looked forward to our morning reading for school when we would read it.

And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie

Agatha Christie is one of my favorite authors . It is said that this is her best published book, to which I agree.  This book, if it is your first to read, may be sort of creepy.  This is not the first one I read so it wasn't bad, but even I got a bit scared.  Overall, this is a longer book for the author, but such a good one.  Honestly, the ending was so unexpected, but I'll leave that for you to discover. This book does not have a detective, but is basically every man for themselves.

Synopsis
Ten innocent men and women are invited to Soldier Island by a "forgotten friend."  Two of the said people are servants who are enlisted for the weekend visitors and their host.  When everyone arrives the host has still not joined them.  After dinner, a strange recording is placed on the gramophone, by order of the host, accusing them all of murder.  Everyone noticed a certain poem hanging on the wall of their rooms. And mysteriously, they all begin to die one by one.

Ten little soldier boys went out to dine,
One choked his little self and then there were nine.
Nine little soldier boys sat up very late,
one overslept himself and then there were eight.
Eight little soldier boys traveling in Devon,
One said they would stay there and then there were seven.
Seven little soldier boys chopping up sticks,
One chopped himself in halves, and then there were six.
Six little soldier boys playing with a hive,
A bumble bee stung one and then there were five.
Five little soldier boys going in for law,
One got into chancery and then were four.
Four little soldier boys going out to sea ,
A red herring swallowed one, and then there were three.
Three little soldier boys walking in the zoo,
A big bear hugged one and then there were two.
Two little soldier boys sitting in the sun,
One got frizzled up and then there was one.
One little soldier boy left all alone,
He went and hung himself
And then there were none.
